Here are the top four stories in Patchogue today:

  1. Patchogue Elks Club is hosting a food drive on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is at 1323, 14 A Oak St. in Patchogue. You can stop by during the event if you would like to donate non-perishable foods or money. (Patchogue Patch Events)
  2. Democrat Kathy Hochul will keep her New York governor seat, becoming the first woman elected governor in New York state. The NYS 2nd Senate District race is over with Mario Mattera winning against Susan Berland with 58,471 votes. You can find the full story here. (Smithtown Patch)
  3. A young boy from Shirley was hospitalized after eating cannabis laced gummies that he collected on Halloween while trick-or-treating. The five-year-old was transported to a nearby hospital on Tuesday. Police said he thought the gummies were from the brand Starburst. (Patch)
  4. Hot pancakes will be served at the new IHOP that is expected to open on Patchogue-Yaphank Road in 2023. The restaurant is taking over the vacant spot Ruby Tuesday's left during the pandemic. The town has approved a building permit and the site is under renovation. (Patch)
