Juneteenth To Be Marked In Patchogue
The Society of the Grand Army of the Republic Richard Clark Post No. 210 will mark Juneteenth at Patchogue Village Hall June 19.
PATCHOGUE, NY — The Society of the Grand Army of the Republic Richard Clark Post No. 210 will mark Juneteenth on Monday in Patchogue.
The post will honor the completion of President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation by laying a wreath at the Patchogue "Citizen Soldier" monument and reading General Order #3 announcing liberty to those held in bondage in Galveston, Texas, according to a post on Patchogue Village's community calendar.
The event will take place at Village Hall on Baker Street at 11 a.m.
