Man Dies During Suffolk Fight Early Sunday: Police

BELLPORT, NY —A man died during a fight in Bellport early Sunday, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place on Taylor Avenue at 2:45 a.m.; Fifth Precinct officers responded to a report of a fight at the location, authorities said.

Prior to the arrival of police, Carlos Bonaparte, 44, who had been struck in the head with an unknown object during the fight, was transported by private vehicle to NYU Langone Hospital–Suffolk in Patchogue, police said.

Bonaparte was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
