Here are the top five stories today in Patchogue:

  1. Police reported an altercation and physical assault at the East Winds Apartments parking lot on Montauk Highway. A man from East Patchogue attacked another male using a pistol to hit him repeatedly. A shot was fired during the incident, but no one was struck. (Patchogue Patch)
  2. Registered voters who need to update their address have until Wednesday, Oct. 19, to do so. The update can be made at the local DMV in person or online at the Department of Motor Vehicles website. (Comsewogue Library)
