- Patchogue Christmas Boat Parade is Sunday! Attendees will watch the decorated crafts sailing on the river from the heated deck of the Davis Park Ferry Terminal at 5 p.m. Hot chocolate and pretzels will be available. So as you know, it's a free admission event. (Patchogue Chamber of Commerce)
- Patchogue-Medford Public library hosts the Friends of the Library Book Sale at 10 a.m. It's a unique opportunity for all bookworms in the community to find great bargains while hanging out on Patchogue Main Street. (Patchogue Patch)
- Starbucks workers protested for better wages and fixed schedules. Over 100 coffee stores went on strike on Thursday. In some spots, workers give out red cups with the union logo instead of the traditional holiday cup designed yearly by the company. (LI News12)
- Suffolk Police are looking for two shoplifters who left the HomeGoods store in Patchogue with $960 in unpaid merchandise. Two women were caught by the security system committing the theft on Saturday. Oct. 8. Police ask whoever recognizes them to contact Suffolk crime stoppers. (Daily Voice)
