1. Aegean Pizza is saying farewell to its customers on Aug. 6. The pizzeria located at the Sun-Vet Mall has been in business for 50 years but announced its closure via Facebook. (Greater Long Island)
2. The Patchogue community will enjoy a good soup every Saturday starting in November. The Grace Care Ministries will have a Kitchen Mobile Soup and other treats ready for taking out at the parking lot of the VFW Post 2913. (Patch)
3. Shark of Long Island program will be hosted at the Patchogue-Medford Public Library. The "Jaw-some" event will teach the diverse shark species in the Long Island waters and other curiosities on Aug. 4 at 6:30 p.m. (Patchogue CofC)
4. Nearby News: The wild cat spotted at Central Islip this week was rescued and taken to the Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown. According to the rescuers, the animal was caught on Hawthorne Avenue in Central Islip. (LI News12)
