1. The music will be loud at Medford Memorial Park on Aug. 17. Patchogue-Medford Public Library is the organizer of the event that features live music, crafts, and more from 7 to 9 p.m. (Patchogue CofC)
2. The Village of Patchogue welcomes the law office of Michael S. Juarez P.C., which specializes in immigration. The office is now open at 317 East Main Street in Patchogue. Juarez also serves the community at the Latino Leadership Council. (Long Island Advance)
3. The Brewport Coffee House will host the solo Artist Reception for Long Island artist Christie Jones. The event is for Aug. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at 129 S Country Rd, in Bellport. Jone's work will be displayed for viewing/sale until the end of September. (Patchogue CofC)
4. Nearby News: Wade Gagliano from Ronkonkoma struck a pedestrian while driving intoxicated on Sunday morning. The fatal hit-and-run happened on Johnson Avenue between Pine Avenue and Ocean Avenue. (Patch)
