- Pedestrian Mely Josue Galeas of Patchogue was hit by a pickup truck while crossing Route 112 on Sunday evening. Galeas was transported to the Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue but died from his injuries. The truck driver was not injured during the accident. (Patchogue Patch)
- Police are investigating the theft of seven French bulldogs from a house located at Concord Road in Shirley. Security cameras caught the suspect committing the burglary at 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 24. Police are asking anyone with information to call 631-852-8752. (Daily Voice)
- Nicolas Vaden, 26, of Patchogue, was arrested for driving under the influence on Sunday. The arrest resulted from an investigation of road rage events in Suffolk County. (Patch)
- A Long Island local author is one of the 2022 Kid's Book Award choices. Writer Jerry Mikorenda, from Northport, is selected to run in two categories for his book, "The Whaler's Daughter." If you want to support him with your vote, visit here. (TBR News Media)
