  1. The Village of Patchogue Department of Public Works superintendent Joseph Dean spoke about sewage treatment issues. Residents have complained about odors coming from the treatment plant on Hammond Street. Smells were reported caused by charcoal carbon leaked into the air. (LIA)
  2. The Protecting the Environment in Patchogue (PEP) donated a Bike Fix Station to be installed at the Patchogue-Medford Library Carnegie Teen Center. The community is invited to spot by on Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. until noon to enjoy the free service at its grand opening! (PMPL)
  3. The 8th Annual Puppy Walk is scheduled for Sunday, May 22, at the View Facility located at 49 Smith Street in Patchogue. Bring your four-legged family member to participate in the event hosted by the Patchogue Lioness Club. (Patchogue Village)
  4. Gas prices reached a new record this week. The gas price in New York City is now at $4.91. On Long Island, the gas prices jumped 4 cents overnight, reaching $4.95 a gallon. (LINews12)
  5. Patchogue-Medford Public Library will host the "Music from the Movies with Long Island reSound." Come out on Sunday, May 22 at 2 p.m. to enjoy the best music from TV and movie themes. Registration is not required. (PMPL)
