  1. Police say the body of a missing mother from Centereach has been found in the woods in Middle Island and her husband was arrested. Melissa Molinari was last seen on Nov. 21 at her home. The 43-year-old mother of four was not reported missing until last Thursday, Dec. 2. Police said they found her body in the Rocky Point Barrens State Forest off Currans Road in Middle Island. Her husband, Marcello Molinari, is now under arrest and charged with second-degree murder. So far, police have not released any other details about this case.

  • An East Islip High School senior was received a "perfect five" on an AP research project on perfectionism. Chiara Mosca, 17, was one of just a few hundred students nationwide to achieve the score. She focused on the topic of if perfectionism leads to procrastination in high schoolers.   • A native Long Islander, I grew up in the shadow of the city that never sleeps. Anyone who has ever walked through Times Square at midnight knows that the city has effectively banished the night.
