  1. Patchogue-Medford Public Library is hosting a Halloween Party for teens on Oct. 28 at the Carnegie building. The festivity starts at 6 p.m. Visit the library's website to register for this event. (Patchogue CofC)
  2. Patchogue's late community leader, Doña Isabel Rodriguez, had her memory honored on the Village's first Hispanic Cultural Parade. Doña Isabel was originally from Puerto Rico and was well known for helping immigrants to adapt to their new homes through the years. (Patch)
  3. Early voting starts on Saturday, October 29. Visit https://voterlookup.elections.ny.gov to find nearby voting locations. (CPLIB)
  4. Nearby News: The community gathered to attend Coram teenager Tyler Phillips' funeral services held on Saturday. Phillips was a victim of a hit-and-run early this month. No arrests were made, and police continued to search for the driver. A cash reward is offered for whoever has information that leads to an identification and arrest. (Long Island News 12)

  • Long Islanders are expected to pay more for the traditional Thanksgiving turkey this year. According to the Department of Agriculture, prices are 73% up compared to 2021. Inflation is the leading cause of the high prices. Some food banks on Long Island, such as LI Harvest and LI Cares, said they would prepare non-traditional meals to complement distribution among families. (Long Island News 12)
