Here are the top four stories today in Patchogue:

  1. If you still have pumpkins hanging around from Halloween, bring them to Patchogue's annual 'Walk-Through Zoo' hosted by the Recreation and Parks Department on Saturday to be served as treats to four-legged guests. The event starts at 11 a.m. (Patch)
  2. Two teens were arrested for allegedly burglarizing John S. Hobart Elementary School in Shirley. The incident happened in September and involved graffiti with racist and sexual content. Read the full coverage of the story here. (Patch)
  3. Songwriter Harry Chapin would turn 80 on Dec. 7, and his family will celebrate with a special concert at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts on Jan. 28. His best hits will be played during a retrospective of his career. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased here. (Patchogue Patch)
  4. Stony Brook University presented the results of four years of studies to prevent flooding on the South Shore. The proposals include the installation of sea gates around the inlets on the Long Island South Shore and other projects. The solutions for the issue would require high investment to be fulfilled. It's yet to be determined if any of these proposals will be approved. (News 12 New Jersey)

The 1983 Jaguar XJ -S H.E. that once belonged to the rocker Joan Jett was rolled up to the Village on Wednesday after being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, OH.
