Pedestrian Seriously Hurt Crossing Street On Long Island: Police
He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment, Suffolk police say.
BELLPORT, NY —A man was seriously injured when he was struck by an SUV in Bellport as he was crossing the roadway on Saturday evening, Suffolk police said.
A 71-year-old Bellport man was driving a 2010 Toyota RAV4 westbound on Montauk Highway, when it struck the 43-year-old man at around 5:20 p.m., according to police.
The man, who is from Bellport, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, and the driver was not injured, police said.

The Toyota was impounded for a safety check, according to police.
