Santa's 5K Toy Trot On Sunday

A race to benefit those in need.

The Kiwanis Club of Patchogue will host Santa's 5K Toy Trot Sunday to benefit those in need during the holiday season.

The race, which will start and end on the Great South Bay, is open to everyone and will kick off at 11 a.m. Pre-registration for the race ends on Saturday and is $30, while it is $35 the day of the race.

The club is asking all participants to bring a new, unwrapped toy.

There will be prizes for the top three finishers in the men and women fields, with first place taking home $300; second place getting $175; and third place getting $125. The fastest overall male or female winner who breaks the course record will get $100.

Participants who don't want to run the entire race can run the new "Mrs. Claus Mile" for $20.

There will also be special prizes for Most Festive Group and Most Festive Individual, as well as refreshments and free finish line photo and video.
