Shirley Ambulance Struck In Hit-And-Run On LIE: Police

No patients were on board, and no injuries were reported, Suffolk police say.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY —A Shirley Ambulance Company vehicle was struck in an apparent hit-and-run in East Patchogue on Tuesday, a Suffolk police spokeswoman said.

The ambulance was traveling westbound on Express Drive North when a tractor-trailer switched lanes and struck its front at around 10:23 a.m., police said, adding that the tractor left the scene without stopping.

The ambulance did not have lights and sirens activated at the time and was not transporting a patient, police said.

No injuries were reported, according to police.
