Patchogue named to top of the list.

A new study by the Long Island Regional Planning Council found that the Village of Patchogue generated $693 million in economic growth from 2000 to 2017 - making it the region's best example of smart growth and transit-oriented development.
The economic growth, which was measured over a 17-year span from 2000 to 2017, includes downtown business operations, non-local household spending and various construction projects.
In that period, Patchogue received $246 million in private construction investments, which added thousands of jobs.
