Suffolk Arson Investigating At Least 2 Weekend Fires In Brookhaven Town: Police
The first was in Yaphank, the second in Mount Sinai, and no one was injured, police say.
BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Suffolk Arson Squad detectives are investigating at least two house fires that broke out in Brookhaven Town over the weekend, a police spokesperson said Monday.
No one was injured in either fire, according to police.
The fire broke out at a home on Dixon Street and Williamsburg Way in Yaphank at 1 a.m. on Saturday, and the cause has not been determined, police said.

Arson is also investigating a fire that broke out at a home in Mount Sinai late Sunday, according to police.
It started at a Birch Hill Road home at around 10:31 p.m., police said.

In another nearby incident, a downed power line sparked a small brush fire broke out on Hickory Street in Mt. Sinai at around 5 p.m. on Saturday, and PSEG Long Island responded, police said.
Detectives are also investigating a fire that destroyed a home in Fire Island Pines on Saturday, police said.
