Teen Threatened Massive Shooting At LI High School: Police

The 16-year-old made the threat on Instagram, two days after 19 children and two teachers were killed inside a Texas elementary school.

BELLPORT, NY — A 16-year-old boy was arrested after he made threats on social media about committing a mass shooting at his Long Island high school, police said.

On Thursday, the teen, whose identity is being withheld because he is a minor, created a post on the “Bellport Scholars” Instagram page stating that there could be a massive shooting at Bellport High School, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said.

Suffolk police said the teen made the threat on his Instagram story. Multiple people called 911.
