Woman, 84, Dies In Suffolk Crash Friday Night: Police
Her car left the roadway and crashed into a wooded area, police say.
EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in East Patchogue Friday night, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place in the eastbound Sunrise Highway service road at Gazzola Drive at about 8:50 p.m.
Patricia Lovetro, 84, of Deer Park, was driving a 2023 Nissan Sentra on the service road, approaching a right turn at Gazzola Drive, when the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a wooded area, police said.

Lovetro was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
