Pearl River Celebrates Reopening With Sidewalk Saturdays

Sidewalk Saturdays include the closure of three streets downtown.

PEARL RIVER, NY — Pearl River residents and businesses will celebrate the reopening of the local economy in the wake of the new coronavirus pandemic with Sidewalk Saturdays this weekend and next.

"We are elated," said the Pearl River Chamber of Commerce on Facebook. "We look forward to seeing you there!"

Streets will be closed for shopping and dining in the downtown.

  • Central Avenue from John to Main
  • Main Street from Franklin to Washington
  • William Street from Franklin to Washington.

The event will mean a detour for Transit of Rockland bus route #92.

This Saturday and next, TOR #92 passengers in Pearl River can meet buses at Gilbert Avenue and South Middletown Road, or at Route 304 and East Central Avenue.

Customers are reminded that, as per NYS Executive Order 202.18, individuals over age two (and able to medically tolerate it) must wear a mask or face covering over the nose and mouth when riding public transit.
