The ELF Harvest Extravaganza drew 355 people to the Hilton Pearl River to benefit Pearl River's three elementary schools Nov. 7.
With 340 tickets sold, they raised $20,000 profit to split among the PTAs for Evans Park Elementary School, Lincoln Ave. Elementary School and Franklin Ave. Elementary School.
"We are very happy with this amount for a first effort at getting the three schools together to raise money for their respective PTAs," said Christine Reddy, one of the event organizers.
They had nearly 200 prize baskets. Just some of the prizes were a season of free lawn maintenance (donated by Keystone donated by Keystone Landscaping, Inc. and the Eichner Family, a flat screen television donated by the Franklin Ave families, tickets to see Newsies donated by Kevin O'Brien of the NY Daily News), New York Yankees tickets donated by John & Allyn Flaherty, a lottery and gift card tree donated by the Evans Park Staff, an iPad donated by Windstream Corp, a Kindle Fire donated by Lincoln Ave. Fourth Grade families and a dvd player with movies and popcorn donated by Evans Park second grade families. The district's three elementary school principals -- Peggy Lynch of Evans Park, Kathleenann Cool of Lincoln. Ave. and Maureen Alaimo of Franklin Ave. donated a large Elf on the Shelf basket.
