Remembering Rockland Humanitarian Jeff Keahon

Friends of Jeffrey Keahon gathered to celebrate the life of a man known for his humanitarian contributions in on the eve of what would have been his 70th birthday Thursday in the Pearl River High School auditorium.

Attendees were asked to bring a donation of any size to the charity of their choice as a tribute to Keahon, whose own charitable work went well beyond his Pearl River home and Rockland County. The donations were collected at Thursday's event and will be delivered to the charities.

There were pictures of Keahon all through the room, many of him in costume. As president of the HIstorical Society of Rockland County and a member of the American Revolutionary Roundtable, he often had the opportunity to portray historical figures.

Keahon passed away in September. Read more about him here

Hanns Kohl, a long-time member of the Rotary Club of Pearl River along with Keahon, shared his pictures from Thursday's event with Patch.
