After-School Child Luring Attempt Investigated By Peekskill Police
The child who reported the disturbing incident was approached by a woman in a van whose offer of a ride was refused.

PEEKSKILL, NY — A Peekskill student knew better than to accept a ride from a stranger, but officials are expressing concern about a troubling incident this week.
School officials said that Peekskill police received a report of a student being approached by a woman in a blue-gray van Monday after school. The driver reportedly asked the student if they wanted a ride.
The student wisely did not get in the van and reported the incident.

"Police are investigating the matter," Peekskill City School school officials said in a letter to families. "Please continue to speak to your children about safety procedures and remind them never to accept rides from strangers."
