Head-on Crash On Goat Trail Injures Two Friday Night

Two people were transported to Westchester Medical Center.

CORTLANDT, NY — A two-car crash injured two people and closed Bear Mountain Bridge Road for several hours Friday night.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the winding road, locally known as the Goat Trail, at 10:28 p.m.

New York State police said that, according to their preliminary investigation, a Dodge Avenger driven by 23-year-old Mike Zambrano of Cortlandt apparently failed to negotiate a curve and entered the westbound lane, crashing into a Lexus sedan driven by Anthony Williams, 57, of Peekskill.

They were both transported by the Peekskill Volunteer Ambulance Corps to the trauma center at Westchester Medical Center for evaluation of what police called non-life-threatening injuries.

Mohegan Volunteer Ambulance Corps assisted on standby to cover the city while both units were out of the district.
