New Monthslong Traffic Changes Along U.S. Route 6/202 Start Wednesday
The roadwork is part of a massive ongoing flood mitigation project with the current phase scheduled to last through early spring.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — A $26.1 million flood mitigation project along U.S. Route 6/State Route 202 at the Annsville Circle in the Town of Cortlandt is bringing more changes to the heavily traveled route.
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising Westchester County drivers that a new traffic pattern controlled by temporary signals is expected on U.S. Route 6/202 (Bear Mountain Bridge Road), for construction work.
The new pattern will start Wednesday, Oct. 9 and last through Friday, April 20, between Roa Hook Road and Bear Mountain Parkway in the Town of Cortlandt.

The new traffic pattern is necessary for the ongoing flood mitigation project at the Annsville Circle, which will raise the circle by four feet and a half-mile section of flood-prone U.S. Route 6/State Route 202 by seven feet, creating "a more resilient connection that will be safer and operate more reliably in extreme weather events caused by climate change."
