Painter Admits To Raping 11-Year-Old Girl At Apartment Building Worksite

WHITE PLAINS, NY — A worker who abused a child in her own home has admitted to using his access to a residential building to commit a horrifying crime.

Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace says that 60-year-old Anselmo Yambay Pena, of Peekskill, a painter-for-hire, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to felony first-degree rape of an 11-year-old girl in 2024.

When sentenced on October 7, Pena will face 17 years in prison in exchange for admitting to his criminal conduct, among other conditions. He remains in custody at the Westchester County Jail.

"I can only imagine the grief and horror experienced by the victim in this case because of this defendant’s depravity," Cacace said. "A guilty plea now provides her and her family with finality, without having to subject her to the difficult process of trial preparation. I am humbled by her courage and resilience in the face of this disturbing abuse, and my office will continue to provide her with supportive services."

On Feb. 15, 2024, Pena was hired to paint apartments at a residential building in Peekskill. The victim, who was 11 years old at the time, was raped in her family's apartment.
