CORTLANDT, NY — A day at the park turned ugly when a Verplanck man failed to keep his hands to himself, according to police.

The Westchester County Police Department says that the 64-year-old was charged on Wednesday with misdemeanor forcible touching related to a groping incident that took place earlier this month, in a Town of Cortlandt park.

On July 5, a woman reported to authorities that Robert McCain, who is a casual acquaintance of hers, groped her as they were talking at the Town of Cortlandt dog park, located on Sprout Brook Road.

Westchester County police noted that McCain was convicted of murder in Rockland County in 1981 and is currently on parole. Police say that New York State parole officials have been notified of his arrest.
