PEEKSKILL, NY — Smoky conditions have forced some area schools to cancel after-school activities.

The Peekskill City School District has canceled all after-school activities, including sports and after-school programs for Wednesday.

The Lakeland school district said all after-school activities Thursday will take place indoors.

The Hendrick Hudson School District issued a Red Alert (Unhealthy) with all after-school activities, including sports, canceled for Wednesday. The Board of Education Community Forum at 7 p.m. is being moved to the Hendrick Hudson High School auditorium.
