CORTLANDT, NY — The town of Cortlandt is seeking to hire laborers in the Department of Environmental Services.
The position performs routine manual laboring work in the divisions of the department: sanitation, parks, highway, water and central buildings.
People in the job will perform cleaning, maintenance and repair assignments, load and unload materials (refuse and recycling) from trucks, receive and/or move supplies, equipment and furniture and more.

Candidates must be physically able to perform manual labor tasks requiring heavy lifting, up to 75 pounds, and standing for long periods of time.

Work assignments will be primarily outdoors regardless of weather conditions and must have a valid New York driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
A pre-employment drug test, physical and background check must be completed in order to be considered for employment.
Annual Step 1 salary is $51,792 per year.
