CORTLANDT, NY — The Northern Westchester Joint Water Works of Cortlandt Manor is seeking to fill a job opening for water meter repairer.

The water works operates two 1A water treatment facilities and manages water distribution systems for several communities.

This position will be assigned to related tasks in various locations within Yorktown, Cortlandt and Somers.

A complete job description can be found at this link, but includes maintaining and repairing water meters and being responsible for the meter repair shop in connection with a water distribution system. The position also involves fieldwork required in checking, testing and reading water meters. Supervision is not a responsibility of this position.

Candidates should have good knowledge of the construction of water meters, meter testing practices, tools and terminology involved in maintenance and repair of meters.

The work week is 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with an annual salary between $50,000 and $55,000.
