Danny Fund Dedicated To Families Wins Award

PELHAM, NY— A group dedicated to helping the families of children suffering from a catastrophic illness or injury recently received an award for its work.

The Jaspan Schlesinger Heart of Community Awards are being distributed as part of the law firm's 75th-anniversary celebration, donating to 75 local non-for-profits, the firm said.

The Danny Fund provides financial, emotional and advocacy support for families within a 30-mile radius of Pelham, NY. The goal is to prevent financial and emotional collapse by providing the assistance needed — for as long as necessary — to help them remain stable.

A 100 percent volunteer, Westchester-based, non-profit organization, it gives more than 95 percent of every dollar raised to the families it has committed to help.

Carol Melnick of Jaspan Schlesinger, a supporter of the Danny Fund for many years, joined the organization as a member of the Board of Directors in early 2020.
