Green cupcakes and green jello were the main desserts after a tasty hot lunch of corned beef and cabbage for the residents at Williamsbridge Center on Tomlinson Avenue in the Bronx. There were games and staff dressing up like leprechauns on this St. Patrick’s Day at the cozy 77-bed skilled nursing facility and the main goal set by the Recreation team was for the residents to have fun together, something that has been quiet for two years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to the great desserts and costumes, Irish music was played over the intercom and the dining room was decked out in a lot of green. All in all, St. Patrick’s Day 2022 at Williamsbridge Center was a return to an Irish normal.

"It was all about the residents enjoying St. Patrick's Day again," said Monique Sampson, Recreation Director. "My staff also did a wonderful job with decorating the facility, especially in the main dining room when all of the residents came to have the special Irish lunch and green desserts."
