• Search for Revolutionary War relics uncovers human remains in Bronx park (nydailynews.com) — Pelham gets a notable mention in new findings from nearby Van Cortlandt Park, where archeologists searching for Revolutionary War artifacts uncovered human remains in a wooded area Friday. The discovery recalls the 1776 Battle of Pell’s Point, also known as the Battle of Pelham, when local terrain helped Washington’s army escape encirclement. Police are now investigating the remains.
