Wave Hill Holds Invasives Intensive Day

The November 5 event will focus on invasive species in our gardens.

From Wave Hill:

BRONX, NY — Plants, like animals, must fight for territory in order to survive. Delve into the fascinating world of plants at Wave Hill on November 5, as you learn about the invasive species in our gardens. Start off the day with a Garden Walk through the woodlands guided by landscape architect and furniture artist David Hughes. Scout out the alien invaders of the plant world and learn how they have become harmful for their surrounding environment. Then, use those invasive plants to construct a miniature chair during a Woodworking Workshop. After a hard day’s work, stop in The Shop to admire some of David Hughes’s rustic, life-sized furniture.

Register for the Woodworking Workshop online or onsite at the Perkins Visitors Center. All other events are free with admission to the grounds.
