Voters Approve Bethpage Budget, Elect Trustees

Residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

Bethpage residents approved a 2018-19 school budget on Tuesday.

The $85,229,857 budget passed with 734 yes votes and 158 no votes, according to the school district. The budget is a 1.99 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 2.9 percent tax levy increase.

Residents also elected James McGlynn, Christina Scelta and Sandra Watson to the Bethpage Board of Education. Each candidate ran unopposed.
