Long Island Swim School

Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. The main emphasis of our programs is to teach children to swim correctly and develop essential water skills in a relaxed environment. Our goal driven and technique oriented approach is the key to your child's success. Through skill based quality teaching our students develop a joy for learning and a passion for swimming. At Long Island Swim School, we teach children to swim the same way the best in the world do. By using age-appropriate, proven techniques children build real skills in kick, pull, body position, and breath control. Our logical, consistent progression turns every fundamental—whether blowing bubbles or learning butterfly timing—into a building block for efficient, confident swimming. Our professional staff are swimmers and coaches with the knowledge to give your child the skills to achieve more than just water safety. We provide the best foundation possible for success. Not every child will dream of Olympic glory, but every child should have the foundation to take them there. Dragonfly Cares

We’re Dragonfly Cares, a group of providers offering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Speech-Language Therapy across Long Island. Our goal is to support children as well as the caregivers around them, while emphasizing community engagement and transparency. Our goal from the start has been to create a supportive network and uplifting environment for the families and therapists we work with. No more one-size fits all models, we provide more and always will. Each group is led by a BCBA and includes 1:1 support from a trained behavior technician. Groups are thoughtfully formed based on each child’s individual needs and skill sets. It’s a wonderful opportunity for your child to build social skills, communication, and more—all in a fun and supportive environment! A large dump truck flipped over on its side Monday morning on the Long Island Expressway at Route 106/107, spilling its contents and causing major delays in the eastbound lanes of the expressway. The crash took place about 10 a.m. in the vicinity of Exit 41, the ramp for Routes 106/107 at Hicksville and Jericho. The crash sent debris all over the roadway and the area was closed as crews cleaned up. Police said the clean-up could take an extended amount of time. The driver of the truck was not hurt. As of 11 a.m., there were wajor delays in both directions of the LIE between Post Road in Westbury and South Oyster Bay Road in Syosset<a href="https://syosset.patch.com/commute" rel="nofollow">, according to the Patch live traffic map.</a> The cause of the crash in unknown this morning. This is a breaking story; Patch will have updates when they become available.
