Long Island Swim School

Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. The main emphasis of our programs is to teach children to swim correctly and develop essential water skills in a relaxed environment. Our goal driven and technique oriented approach is the key to your child's success. Through skill based quality teaching our students develop a joy for learning and a passion for swimming. At Long Island Swim School, we teach children to swim the same way the best in the world do. By using age-appropriate, proven techniques children build real skills in kick, pull, body position, and breath control. Our logical, consistent progression turns every fundamental—whether blowing bubbles or learning butterfly timing—into a building block for efficient, confident swimming. Our professional staff are swimmers and coaches with the knowledge to give your child the skills to achieve more than just water safety. We provide the best foundation possible for success. Not every child will dream of Olympic glory, but every child should have the foundation to take them there. Dragonfly Cares

We’re Dragonfly Cares, a group of providers offering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Speech-Language Therapy across Long Island. Our goal is to support children as well as the caregivers around them, while emphasizing community engagement and transparency. Our goal from the start has been to create a supportive network and uplifting environment for the families and therapists we work with. No more one-size fits all models, we provide more and always will. Each group is led by a BCBA and includes 1:1 support from a trained behavior technician. Groups are thoughtfully formed based on each child’s individual needs and skill sets. It’s a wonderful opportunity for your child to build social skills, communication, and more—all in a fun and supportive environment! The Manetto Hill Jewish Center wants to teach the community how to recognize and prevent an overdose. The program, slated for Aug. 7, will teach community members how administering the overdose-reversal agent called Naloxone or Narcan. The drug has saved numerous lives in Suffolk County, where first responders have been trained and equipped with the it. The Plainview training is targeted to college-aged students 18 and older. The program is open to the entire community. The potentially life-saving training will be conducted by Felicia Schneberg at the Manetto Hill Jewish Center, at 244 Manetto Hill Road, Plainview It is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013 from 8:30 -10:00 p.m. Please RSVP to Synagogue Office at (516) 935-5454
