Plainview Man To Run 100 Miles For Late Grandma With Alzheimer's

The run is meant to raise money for research and awareness for the disease, according to a report.

PLAINVIEW, NY — A Plainview man plans to run 100 miles this weekend in honor of his late grandmother, who died of Alzheimer's earlier this year at 95, according to a report.

Jay Asparro's run will begin at noon Saturday regardless of whether, and hopes to finish around 10 a.m. Sunday, Newsday reported.

Asparro will circle the track at his alma mater, Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale, 400 times. This will be his fourth ultramarathon, known as the Ann Asparro runs, according to the report. They have raised $82,000 for the Long Island Alzheimer’s and Dementia Center.
