POB Middle School to Dedicate Gazebo in Memory of Teacher
New reading area named for Sandee Goldstein.

Plainview Old Bethpage Middle School will unveil a new reading area donated in memory a beloved teacher who lost a battle to cancer in 2011.
The school will hold a ceremony Friday to dedicate the "POBMS Gazebo Reading Area" which was donated to the school by the Sandee Goldstein Memorial Fund, school officials wrote in a letter to parents.
Goldstein was a fifth grade teacher who battled the disease for several years she retired a few months before a death in July, 2011 at age 62.
Her death inspired one of her former students to donate his hair last year to a company that makes wigs for those undergoing cancer treatment.
