Suspects Wanted in $70K Jewelry Heist

Nassau Police release photos of suspects in Broadway Mall theft.

Nassau County Police have released photos of a man and woman wanted in connection with a $70,000 jewelry heist at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville.

Police said three people – two men and a woman – approached the Ailin’s Jewelry kiosk March 13 at 7:06 p.m. Police said they acted in concert to steal assorted gold jewelry items valued at approximately $70,000.

The first man approached the kiosk and was assisted by an Ailin’s employee, police said. Then a second man arrived and the employee offered to assist him. One of the men took two trays of jewelry from the kiosk and then handed it off to a woman, who left.

“They distracted him,” Officer James Imperiale said of the Ailin’s employee. “He had a couple of trays of jewelry out.”

The suspects fled to the south side of the mall in the direction of Macy’s.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 and asking anyone with information about this crime to call 1-800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
