Clarification on Port Chester's Increased Parking Meter Fees
It is now 25 cents per 15 minutes, a dollar per hour. In coming weeks, you must feed the meter later in the day.

The Village of Port Chester has sent a press release meant to clarify confusion over the recent enactment of the new parking meter legislations.

· Currently in Effect
o A Parking Fee increase was adopted on April 29th and put into effect on June 1st. The increase is from $.25 cents per 20 minutes to $.25 cents per 15 minutes: or now $1.00 per hour. This change has been effectuated on all digital pay stations. Parking Enforcement currently in effect.

o All single head coin operated meters are being changed to the new $1.00 per hour rate with an estimated date of completion of July 1st.

o Parking Meter hours of operation will be extended two (2) additional hours for all metered street parking; or from 9A.M. - 7 P.M. to 9A.M. - 9P.M. Enforcement of this change will occur immediately after the installation of updated parking regulation signage.
o At the June 17th, 2013 Board of Trustees meeting the board members will be discussing changing parking time limits. The proposed change is from two (2) hours Max to three (3) hours Max between 6 and 9P.M. Signage cannot be changed until a final adoption of same. Enforcement of this change will occur immediately after the installation of updated parking regulation signage.
