Fake 'No Parking' Notices Put On Cars By Somebody; Cops Say To Ignore The Forged Postings
The notices put on cars overnight are on Village of Port Chester letterhead, but cops say the official-looking letters aren't legit.

PORT CHESTER, NY — Somebody in Port Chester took it upon themselves to create their own parking regulations, but police say the notices warning about overnight parking are fake.
"Please be advised the PCPD is aware of an unlawful parking notice that was circulated by persons unaffiliated with the Village of Port Chester overnight," Port Chester police said in statement. "These notices are false — all information detailed on these notices are not to be taken as fact. Although the village is working on deploying a resident parking permit for some streets, a blanket notice such as this is not an appropriate manner of communication nor one it would use — the village does not place notices or advertisements on vehicles."
Police said they are investigating the incident to determine the origin of the notice and who is responsible. Residents who live in an area where cars were "littered" with the notices are being encouraged to contact the Port Chester Police Department with any information, photos, or video footage from home camera systems that may help identify the culprits.
