Lemonade for Luekemia; Natalie Crespo Eirin Kickball Game; Free Concert

The Natalie Crespo Eirin Foundation in Port Chester, founded for a Port Chester native who was lost to brain cancer at age 30, is holding its 5th Annual “Port Chester Elementary School Alumni Kickball Game” on Saturday, Aug. 10. The event will raise funds for NCEF. If you attended any of the four public elementary schools in Port Chester and you would like to play, email us at:  ncefoundation@gmail.com.

 Lemonade for Leukemia

Buy a cup of lemonade and help support Leukemia research this Saturday at 38 Hobard Ave., Port Chester, NY from 12 to 4 p.m. Lael Porcelli’s son started their own Lemonade for Leukemia stand in 2007 after his cousin Katie was diagnosed with the disease in 2003, endured more than two years of chemotherapy and then ultimately beat the cancer. The family and their friends continue to hold the lemonade event to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society every year. This is their seventh annual event. They will have lemonade, goodies, fun and raffles. Read more here.

Shakespeare in The Park

Port Chester Council for the Arts presents LawnChair Theater, a Shakespeare production in the park, this weekend with a Mad Men-inspired performance of “The Taming of the Shrew.” They will perform in Lyon Park Aug. 8 and 9 and Pine Ridge Park in Rye Brook Aug. 10. Rain date for Rye Town Park and Pine Ridge Park is August 11.

La Panetiere Celebrates 28 Years

Jacques Loupiac's La Panetière in Rye is planning to serve a prix-fixe dinner with optional wine pairing from August 6 through August 17, 2013 in honor of the French restaurant's 28th anniversary. The regular menu will also be available.

Fireworks at Playland

There is a free fireworks show at Rye Playland every Wednesday and Friday at 9:15 this month. Parking fees apply. Details here

Concert at Lyon Park

Angie Rubino and the Band will play a free concert at Lyon Park on Aug. 9 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. (time changed from 7 p.m. start time). More information here
