Police Blotter: 2 Men Charged with Shoplifting Chickens

Incident at Port Chester Stop and Shop supermarket.

Two Port Chester men are charged with shoplifting in connection with an incident in which two chickens were taken from the Stop and Shop supermarket in Port Chester, according to Port Chester police.

Police said they were called to the Waterfront Place store at about 10:15 p.m. Friday after a report of a fight involving two men and a women. When police arrived, they found the woman, a store employee, confronting two men who were accused of taking two chickens — valued at $16.62 — from the store without paying.

The two men were charged with petty larceny. Juan Morales, 36, of 50 S. Main St., Port Chester, and Michael Mullen, 44, of 360 Westchester Ave., Port Chester, were later released pending a hearing in Port Chester Village Court on Oct. 22.
