Police: Man Caught Stealing Steak Hidden in Turkey; Car Drenched in Cooking Oil

Man Caught Stealing Steak from Restaurant Depot, Police Say

Restaurant Depot had an accused shoplifter arrested after they allegedly caught him with three large boxes of skirt steak hidden in a box of turkey breasts on Aug. 8, police said. The steaks were worth about $127. The Mahopac man was charged with petit larceny. 

Car Drenched with Oil on Orchard Street

An Orchard Street resident found his vehicle covered in an oily substance around 11 p.m. on Aug. 2, police report. The man believed someone poured cooking oil on the car but there was no damage.
