Police: Man, Woman Found in Closet of Abandoned Home in Port Chester

A man and woman were charged with criminal trespassing Wednesday morning after they were found in a closet of an abandoned home in Port Chester, according to Port Chester Police.

Police said village police officers spotted footsteps in the snow leading up to 23 Washington St., a home they described as abandoned, and saw that a lock on the front door had been broken off. Officers checking the house went to the third floor and discovered the man and woman.

Arrested were: Samantha Maldacker, 24, and Ryseam Simpson, 29.

They were being held Wednesday afternoon for arraignment in Port Chester Village Court.
