Port Chester Board of Trustees: Hearing Tonight on Site Plan Rules

The Port Chester village Board of Trustees meets at 7 tonight at the Village Court, where they'll be opening a public hearing on updates to the village site plan review procedures and standards.

The update is part of the ongoing effort to improve the village zoning code, which oversees development in Port Chester.

The trustees begin their evening with a 6 p.m. closed-door "executive session" to discuss a personnel matter. The public meeting is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Two presentations are scheduled for tonight at the meeting:

- A recommendation by the Council for Community Services and Park Commission on a smoking ban in designate areas.

- On the village Comprehensive Plan and Draft Zoning Amendments.

Up for approval tonight are also awarding bids for sidewalk and curb replacement as well as road resurfacing. St. Peter's Espiscopal Church is also seeking permission for a procession on Sept. 29 and residents of Puritan Drive are seeking permission to for a block party on Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., that would shut the street from Putnam Drive to Indian Road.

The Port Chester school district would also like to have a fire truck at its annual homecoming activities.
