Port Chester Elections: Voter Registration Deadline Arrives
There's still time to apply for an absentee ballot in the upcoming Port Chester village elections, in which residents will select the mayor and fill all six village trustee seats.
As candidate's in Port Chester's upcoming village elections are busy on the campaign trail, village officials today are reminding residents that Friday is the last day that you can register to vote in the March 19 balloting if you are not already registered.
Port Chester Village Clerk Janusz R. Richards said there is still time to register, but those who have not registered must do so by going in-person today to the Westchester County Board of Elections, 25 Quarropas St, White Plains.
Port Chester's March 19 elections will decide who will be the mayor and who will take all six village trustee seats. With Port Chester's unique advance voting system, residents can begin casting their ballots on March 12 at Port Chester Village Hall. On Election Day, voting takes place at polling places throughout the village.

Richards said their is still time to apply for an absentee ballot if you can't get to the polls on Election Day or during the advance voting.

Friday, March 8, 2013 – Last day individuals may register with the county board of elections to be eligible to vote in the village election.
Tuesday, March 12, 2013 – Last day for the village clerk to receive applications for absentee ballots to be mailed to a qualified voter.
Wednesday, March 13, 2013 – Last day for the village clerk to mail absentee ballots qualified voters.
Monday, March 18, 2013 – Last day for the village clerk to receive personal applications for an absentee ballot from applicant or applicant’s agent.

Are you eligible to vote? Here are the requirements:
· You must be a U.S. Citizen
· You must be 18 years of age by Election Day
· Live at your present address at least 30 days before an election
· Not be in jail or on parole for a felony conviction
· Not claim the right to vote elsewhere
