
Port Chester police arrested a 23-year-old Oak Street resident who allegedly assaulted a 34-year-old man in front of St. Peter’s Church on Westchester Avenue on July 22 at 3:08 a.m., according to Port Chester Police Capt. John Telesca. The suspect had been sitting on the church staircase with a few other people before he allegedly assaulted the victim, leaving him with a swollen upper lip and bleeding from abrasions to his right knee and forearm. After the victim was assaulted he flagged down a police officer who caught the suspect and charged him with third degree assault, a Class A misdemeanor.
