Port Chester's Early Budget Predictions: $84.4M in Spending, Tax Levy up 3.05 Percent
Schools superintendent reports budget process will look to close $633,489 gap.

As the Port Chester school district kicks off its 2013-2014 budget process, the district's preliminary forecast predicts an $84.4 million spending plan that increases the tax levy by the state-set limit, 3 percent.
Schools Superintendent Edward Kliszus said that his preliminary look at the new budget shows the district has a $633,489 gap to close in the review process.
School Board President James Dreves said the district is in a much better position that it was a year ago, when the district faced a deficit of more than $2 million.
